Intriguing. I was just asking somebody *in a thread elsewhere about Justin Mentell's death* what could be the rationale behind a willful decision NOT to 'buckle up'.

***********

OTTAWA — Actor Justin Mentell, a member of the cast of Boston Legal, has been killed in a car accident in Wisconsin.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Department said the 27-year-old actor had not been wearing a seatbelt and when his car hit two trees on Monday near Moscow, Wisconsin, the BBC reported.

Mentell played lawyer Garrett Wells in in 2005 and 2006.

He also appeared in the 2009 Disney movie G-Force.

Mentell was also a former member of the U.S. Junior National Speedskating team.

A news release from the sheriff's department said Mentell's 2005 Jeep ran off the right shoulder of the road and down an embankment before striking the trees. The actor was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Yes, all the time. Would be a waste of life if the reason why someone is killed is because of NOT wearing a seat belt.

That video is stupid as hell...no offense to Ms Boop.

If a grown man ain't got enough sense to wear his seatbelt. Then perhaps a video of him crashing his thick ass skull against the windshield and then cut to his wife and daughter standing over his coffin would be a more graphic and enlightening video.
????: Money Maker Discussion Forum|Make Money Online|Seo|Blackhat Seo|WhiteHat|GreyHat|Affiliate and Internet Marketing http://www.moneymakerdiscussion.com/forum/general-discussion/16438-do-you-wear-seatbelt-post102708.html

Why use metaphors and try to be cute about it when we all should know that if you don't wear a seatbelt you are flirting with a closed coffin.

I have had many friends die because they where too cool for a seatbelt....I have also had many close calls where a seatbelt has probably saved my life.

Hopefully I have instilled that into my kids and they will always remeber that. To anyone that don't wear a seatbelt...."your a dumbass"

No offense to anyone

Akin to suicide, really. I mean if you know, and you still choose not to?

Well, you know what they say about opinions.

Some of us aren't up for graphic, actual pictures of what happens when one doesn't wear a seatbelt. I didn't even get my driver's license until I was 25 because my dad worked ER for a few decades. Interesting dinner talk there. >.>

What doesn't work for you might help somebody else see the truth about why you should belt up. After all, most of loss, what happens when you lose a loved one, goes to the heart and mind.

I actually knew a girl that wrecked her old Ranger and would've died if she had her seatbelt on.

That being said, I believe they save more lives than they kill, so I always wear mine.

When I was little, my dad never wore his seatbelt. I got in the habit of forcing him to wear it by leaving my car door open until he put it own (it was an old car without those child locks). He now always wears it .

Also, if you're in a back seat and not wearing one, it's actually very dangerous to the people sitting in front of you from what I've heard.

I was exempt from wearing a seatbelt for 7 and a half years, finishing in 2008. I got hit from behind twice at low speed in that time. I got whiplash both times. My baby girl was born the same day my exemption ended and my qwife insisted I wear belts to set the example. I am a motorcyclist by lifestyle last 40 years out of 45. I don,t like wearing belts but I do now -all the time

Well you going 100+ like I know you do you need to!

lol

I always wear my seatbell, if you don't, then simply you like playing with the devil. I had been in 1 car wreck where I knew the seatbelt saved me.

Yeah, if you don't wear a seat belt, you become a human projectile. Ugly stuff.

I think it's kind of hard to when sitting in back. Also, you have to be either left or right to wear shoulder harnesses (if they even have them back there).

---------- Post added at 02:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 PM ----------

Funny you should say that. My daughter acted like she was being punished if I tried to make her wear a seat belt. That's when I finally started wearing one, because it was the only way to say "See? Mommy's wearing one too. It's what big girls do!"

We have very stringent laws about what height and weight the little people have to be before they can even be front-facing in their car seats. As to the rest of us in the back seat? I barely ever travel in a car. If I'm with my friend on a road trip, I'm in the front and always buckled. If my daughter comes and carts me away, then I'm in the back seat - also always buckled.

Here, people can be fined heavily (may vary from state-to-state) for NOT wearing their seat belts.

In my country people are also getting heavily fined for not wearing a seatbelt in the front (this year fines have got even bigger!). But no matter how much times we were stopped by police, nobody was fined for not wearing a seatbelt sitting in the back.

The people I hang with wear seatbelts in the back, although alot of the time they'll be in the incorrect position or have the shoulder strap behind them.

A lot of the old school older people around here hardly ever wear seat belts, though.

I see that you're from some eastern european country. In the states, cars are usually a lot bigger (duh) and have roads/interstates that you go fast on with plenty of horrible drivers, so if you're in a slow congested area (I've never been to europe so I have no idea what Lithuania is like) it might not make much of a difference.

So, you don't want to wear a seat belt. | News Talk 650 CKOM

Cut in half, you would need to have a wire seatbelt and go 200 mph.

Also, if you dont wear a seatbelt and you get injured because of it, then you dont deserve the insurance given, you break rules, then they can also.

I wear one when I venture into Maryland as they pull you over and ticket you for not wearing it.

otherwise NO.

I have been in a few crashes without one, (totaled cars) not an issue, I am not going to be tossed out a window any time soon though.

My mom wouldn't start the car until I put on my seatbelt.

Now I don't even realize I put it on and take it off.
