Re: Follow Me As I Build a Profitable Niche Website from Scratch!
Nice, I have been wondering when the next post was going to be!
Also, Do you use shopperpress for all your themes? Do you write articles and submit them to places such as EzineArticles?
Anyways, thanx again!

wow ... this thread really open my eyes about niche.
you explain it in a simple manner ... even for a noob like me
thank you very much Jay.
I'm waiting for next update
now I have questions :
1. how do you link to products from amazon and third party?
2. what service you use for the payment ...I meant do you use pp, ap etc? and how do you link to that?
can you explain these in the next update.
sorry if I ask to much, I've been searching for a clear step by step explanation like this.
again .... thanks in advance for the good share bro.

In response to your questions:
1) To link to amazon products so that you'll make a commission just join the Amazon affiliate program and you can get an affiliate link to promote any products they have on the website.
2) Amazon pays me by Check. You can also choose to be paid by direct deposit or through Amazon gift vouchers though!
Hope this helps!
It's been a bit over a month since my last update and I've been pretty bogged down with other projects so haven't done a hell of a lot on this one but I have made a few updates and am continuing to see steady growth.
Added bigger call-to-action buttons...
I decided to add some bigger, more prominent call-to-action buttons to each product to increase the number of click throughs and sales:
Amazon does an awesome job at converting your traffic with all of their product suggestions, reviews and other sales material so if you can simply drive more people to their site then they will close the sales for you!
Added a social article...
Search engines like to see people sharing and liking pages from your website so to add a bit of a 'social' boost to my site I wrote and added an article to my website that's designed to get people to 'share' it... think of it as 'sharebait':
In the middle of the article I've also added a link to my homepage with the main keyword that I am targetting 'Wine Aerator' as the anchor text:
I then just submitted this article to a few social bookmarking websites like Digg and Reddit and shared it in a few wine related Facebook groups.
Sales are improving...
Since my last update I've made another 15 sales:
(Update is continued below. Forum would only let me post 4 images in a post so I had to break this one into two parts...)

Ranking are improving...
My search rankings are also starting to improve.
I'm now ranking on page #3 for my main keyword 'Wine Aerator':
And am sitting on page #1 for the keyword 'Best Wine Aerator':
I'm also ranking on the first page for a few of the product keywords such as 'Rabbit Wine Aerator':
So far, so good!
Everything is looking pretty good and traffic is starting to grow nicely.
Stay tuned for another update soon!

So far so good brother. Looks like everything came together for you. Was starting to wonder if you were ever going to update this thread again. I love seeing all of theses journals progress for everyone and people start making money.

Thank you!! You're the best

I would like to thank you so much for this journal.
I have had my own idea for a niche for quite a while now, and just wasn't sure how to set everything in motion, seeing as I know very little about starting a website from scratch. You have given me some great pointers and a great outline for how to get my own niche site going.
A question I do have is, how do you manage to get such a high commission for your aerators? I was under the impression that the amazon affiliate program didn't pay a whole lot of commission. To me it looks like you're getting over 90% commission.

The fifth and FINAL update!
So I've been pretty busy with some of my other projects lately so admittedly I haven't had a whole lot of time to pour into this case study but despite that the site continues to improve in rankings, traffic and most importantly - sales!
Here's what I've done since the last update...
In total I've added 8 new products since the last update:
As you can see I've started to add some other wine related products like wine stands and decanters. I found myself starting to run out of aerators!
I've added some Google Adsense ads to make squeeze a bit more cash out of the site:
So far the ads have only been up for a few days but they've already pulled in a few extra bucks in earnings.
As per usual I've also been building more backlinks on quality sites:
Case Study Is Continued Below
