looking for a wordpress plugin that redirects traffic

    i am looking to do a completely white hat project :angel: . i want to give ppl my wordpress blog addy and when they go to it it will automatically redirect them to a diff site. i see some plugins but they r saying for 301 redirects and 404 redirects? huh? i just want a simple redirect . pls help. very white hat method. :angel: all proceeds help homeless puppies

    The plugins you seem to be referring to are the ones that you should be using. What do you mean by a "simple" redirect. When a URL is "redirected", you have to provide Google with a "reason" for the redirection. All these types of plugins do this. They may not tell you what type they are doing (or give you the option to set it), but they are passing this code to Google.

    The two most common codes used are:

    302 - Temporary redirect
    301 - Permanent redirect

    You need to determine what you are trying to accomplish (in the long run) by redirecting your readers. Is this going to be a "permanent" thing or not. How you set it up matters for SEO purposes as well (if that matters to you).

    If you don't understand all this, then it would be wise for you to study redirects a little before you put this into effect.

    You may get some WordPress Plugins from nullit.net. I have downloaded couple of plugins from this web site and those are working well...
