A couple years ago, Google came out with an advertising program for publishers called Adsense - we put their ad code on our content sites and earn per click.

Some people earn a very good income from Adsense, BUT along come the lazy bastards who cannot string a sentence together and steal your hard earned content for their own gains.

IE: Take your whole site, modify the pages (sometimes), then add their own adsense code to them - upload to a new domain and expect to earn as much as the original site.

People are doing this, day in - day out - stealing your content AND bandwidth.
COSTING YOU MONEY!!!

Did you know that most of them are doing it totally automated now?

They use programs called "scrapers".

1000's of pages an hour are stolen from your web sites - to be uploaded to other web sites.
Possibly triggering a duplicate content penalty for your site = loss of Google Page Ranking and rankings AND MORE MONEY!!

I sure as heck am totally and utterly fed up with people stealing my content for their own gains.

That is why I wrote AntiCrawl.

You will get a very simple script to add to your sites to:

1. Stop the scrapers right in their tracks by specifying the number of pages allowed to download per second.

2. Set a daily limit on the number of pages to be downloaded. Set it to 10 or 100 per day - the lazy bastards won't bother coming back.

3. Let Google, MSN and Yahoo!'s Slurp index your site freely. (The REAL ones).

Let me tell you something.

I was talking to a friend on ICQ the other night. He tested one of the scraper programs on a site that only had 2 pages indexed in Google at the beginning of August.

That same site has over 85000 pages indexed in Google now!
He is making a ton from the Adsense ads he put on that site.
Where do you think he got the content?
