creating an app

Hello everyone I wanted to ask on creating an app what are basic programs I should learn to use? I'm willing to go to school for this. I have a couple ideas for apps but I just don't know where to start.

You must have basic knowledge of Java language as Java is used for backend programming ... XML is used for front end development ...

I started reading about html would that be important?

If you are looking for android or ios app development than HTML will not help you ... as HTML is for web pages development not for apps development ...
