Why choose heavy anti-virus when you can use a lightweight MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS.

I don't feel like I need one since I'm using linux. If I used windows though I'd probably have either NOD32, Kaspersky or AVG. Anything but Norton haha.

Using Mc Afee Enterprise 8.5i / Virus&AntiSpyware + Firewall 8.5 with lifetime (Update) licence Version since 5 years.
No other pack i know ever allowed me to adjust, control or manage things how i need them. Sure, its a bit of work-through
to set all up, but good thing is, YOU CAN, and that in phenemonal depth. Especially the Firewall is scream.
I NEVER had a problems for 5 years, and only reinstalled my old system ONCE, because i screwed it up myself :).
In that 5 years there were times i considered and tested other products (which not to be honest)...but i sticked to it.

I personally use Nod32 + Malware Bytes. Highly recommended ;)
This guys on the right track, you need to have all your bases covered. I use Eset nod 32, spyware doctor and regularly scan my computer with malwarebytes. If the first two fail and I get a virus, malwarebytes will find that virus and kick its ass 9 out of 10 times. Cheers:)

Oh and I almost forgot, I use windows 7 firewall control, which is free, firewall control will block any program from calling in or out and really helps limit the spyware/adware bullshit.

Does anyone realize how old this thread is? Just an FYI... it's from the beginning of February 2007, nearly 5 years old now :banghead:

I really like avast. It's reliable and I like how it stops a compromised website from loading. It doesn't slow down my computer at all.
