I am trying to make money with facebook and free blogs

Hi everyone, I am new to internet marketing. I have done some research and have found that Social Networking seems like the best possible root, for me anyway - I enjoy facebook, so why not make some money on it, since i'm always on it.

I like the idea of applications, and fan pages, but don't know enough to put it to the test. What would be the best way to start off in this field.

I think the first thing you need to do is pick a niche to market, then create a free report or eBook to market to build a list, and then determine if you are going to market your own products or if you are going to be an affiliate marketer. Once you have that in place then you can focus on driving traffic.

how do you create a ebook on a suvject?
and how do you start building the mailng list? ive seen aweber mentioned - which is fine, but at the moment out of my reach
third question is) how to attract traffic?

if you're looking for an autoresponder at zero cost then a couple that you might want to take a look at is listwire and mailchimp.
as an aside. I'm not convinced that facebook is the right vehicle to make money from. I don' meaan that you can't just that the reason people use facebook is for connection. not for the most part information or entertainment (at the mo) better to use another medium till your marketing skills are up to speed.
