I had a feeling they weren't going to win. I felt sorry for Russia at the end. Especially for Cameron Diaz aka Roman Pavlyuchenko. He was trying. I just think they believed they couldn't beat Spain. They might have still had that 4-1 defeat in their minds.
Well they made it to the semi-finals so that's good for them.
Congrats to Spain.

Spain came out firing! When Spain scored, Russia expected to score as a bounce back. It just happened Spain kept pushing. Russia wasn't pushing the ball and getting good shots like Spain. Spain was playing very smart and their passing and touches were perfect. They were also all on the same page and keep moving without the ball. Russia doesn't really move without the ball that well. Spain played really well and as the game went on kept firing. They wouldn't stop which shows why they deserved to win!

man, i give credit for Russia to go this far and eliminate england, but today, they played Spain. Although Spain is famous for choking, they have this amazing all star team and match up any other squad if not better than any other team in the world. They might choke again in the final, but no one could undermine the true strength of Spain and its powerful squad.

you can go to espn360.com and watch it. it works on;y with certain internet providers though and i think you need to download something so it will work.. i'm pretty sure it will say russia vs spain replay and you can watch the entire game on there in english or spanish. just click on it and it will start from the beginning and be the same broadcast from earlier today. or just check espn's schedule. the usually show the games a few times on espn classic or espn2 late at night.

i was wathcing the spain russia game today and i heard the spanish fans singing cielito lindo and i just wanted to know if they started it or if the mexicans did...i always heard the song during mexico games but know i dont know where it originated does any one know? also in a game in the euro cup i saw the fans do something that i always saw the mexican soccer fans do which was shake their hands and call the opposing golie a puto whenever he kicked the ball did this also originate in mexico or wat?

Yes cielito lindo is a mexican song, but the first four lines (intro) where taken from an old spanish song, because the sierra morena is in Spain, the music and all other lyrics including the chorus (which is what was sung towards the end of the game) were written by a mexican composer, IDK i guess they just like the song, y la alegria mexicana se contagió, i thought i heard them scream put but i wasn't sure, i noticed that the mexas fans yelled that at the goalie from belize when they won 7-0, it was just unnecessary considering the score.... bueno ya Qué Viva México y España, y enhorabuena España, a partirle la madre a los alemanes!!!!!!!!!! ciaaaaaaaaao

he was hurt, im not sure what it was but he was hurt. he injured his foot i think thats what it was, they showed him holding his foot after that free kick he took early in the game.
